Family Care

As the teen girls were baking cookies, I decided to drive around in the community and look for some other girls who might want to join us. During my endeavor, I spoke with a girl who looked as if she was nearing the end of her pregnancy. I asked her when her baby was due to which she replied, "In three weeks." I asked if she had everything she needed, and she had nothing. The following week, I accumulated a car seat, stroller, diapers, and clothes for her. I am still searching for a crib. Pray for us as we take Jesus to the lost and needy in Indiantown, Florida.

Christmas Greetings

I know it is past time to write to all of you and let you know what is taking place in our lives and the Lifehouse of Hope. It seems impossible that this year is almost to an end and a new year is in the fringes. What it holds is in the hand of our loving Lord. It seems that this is a very dark time in the world, but we need to remember the darker the night the brighter the light! We are to be the light, and I wonder how bright we are shining.

The Lifehouse is still shining in Indiantown and the surrounding area. We have faithfully held our Wednesday night Kid's Club. We are planning to start the Girls' Teen Club again in the new year. We still need a leader for the teen boys. Please pray with us for a leader and the starting of the Girls' Club.

Please continue to pray for the new year at Indiantown. We are having a work day on March 5 to put some finishing touches on the building and beautify the outside. Come join us! There will be work, fun, fellowship, and good food. Jonathan Thomas will be cooking.

I am certainly excited about the new maternity house that is to be opening in Tequesta at the beginning of the year. I hope to be able to volunteer.

Thank you for your prayers and support for the work we are doing.

Family Care Ministries

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE you to our ministry at Booker Park community in Indiantown, Florida. The Lighthouse of Hope, a help to individuals in crisis of various situations and a ministry to children and youth.

God has changed the heart and life of Jamila. She came to our girls’ club when we first began the ministry at Booker Park. She and her cousin attended together and were nearly inseparable. They were often the center of attention in a negative way. “Disruptive” would describe their presence, but with much love and prayer, God worked a miracle. One evening after our service, Jamila requested to speak with me. In my mind I thought, “Oh no. She is suspended from school again.” When she told me, “Miss Jane, I got saved,” my surprise was so great I could have fallen over. I wanted to shout all over the property, but in my heart I thanked God profusely. Now, Jamila is known in Booker Park for the change God has made in her life. One soul is worth the whole world!

PURPOSE: To provide Christ’s love and example to the hurting people of Booker Park community.

MISSION: To provide support and empathy in times of crisis for the hurting and needy in Booker Park community.

VISION: To see the people of Booker Park community come to Christ for salvation and live a Christian life in their community.

STRATEGIC KINDS OF MINISTRY

  • Children’s Bible Club on Wednesday evenings; we minister to 15-20 children ages 5-14.
  • Ministry to unmarried, expectant mothers; we counsel and provide material items when needed, such as maternity clothes, baby clothes, strollers, etc. as we have them available.

It is my desire to see this type of ministry take place in communities around the US. Just beyond our church doors lay mission fields. May we reach out to the hurting of our communities and show them Jesus.
