Valentine Family Commissioning
On Sunday, May 10, 2009, the Valentine family was commissioned to their term at HIM’s church on Grand Turk Island. Caribbean Director Frank Vaughn traveled to their home church in Tennessee to conduct their commissioning service. The Valentines arrived at Grand Turk on May 14, 2009. We wish them God’s blessing during their ministry there.
Weddings
On June 20, 2009, Robert Black and Jenny Howard were united in marriage at Zeus Park in Hobe Sound, FL. Robert is the son of Sea Breeze Community Director David Black. Jenny is the daughter of Jim Howard, HIM’s Africa Director. Robert and Jenny reside in Hobe Sound. Robert is employed by Tidy Coast Containers. Jenny is a senior in the education department at Hobe Sound Bible College. We congratulate them and wish God’s blessing upon their future together.
Stephen Grenoble and Holly Junod were married in Grampian, PA, on May 23, 2009. Holly was involved with HIM’s bilingual Hispanic school, Hope Christian School, in West Palm Beach for three years. She then worked in the office for two years. May God’s presence rest upon their future.
Retirement
Hobe Sound ministries recently celebrated the “life-time” commitment of Rev. & Mrs. G. R. French to the ministry organizations. Rev. French, former President of FEA Ministries, taught at Hobe Sound Bible College for 33 years. Mrs. French has labored in various positions at the college for 39 years. They have poured their lives into service at Hobe Sound.
A special service was held in their honor on May 3, 2009, at Hobe Sound Bible Church with a time of fellowship following in the campus cafeteria. Their future plans include assisting Joe Taylor with Gospel Publishing Mission.
A retirement service honoring the ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Leonard Sankey was held at the Faith Mission Church in Bedford, IN, on July 26, 2009.
Graduations
Elena Grant, secretary for Sea Breeze Community and daughter of FEA President Sidney Grant, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish from Palm Beach Atlantic University on May 9, 2009. Erica Grant, daughter of FEA President Sidney Grant, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a concentration in Drama from Hobe Sound Bible College on May 15, 2009.
Erik Grant, son of FEA President Sidney Grant, graduated from 8th grade from Hobe Sound Christian Academy on May 28, 2009.
Robert Black, son of Sea Breeze Community Director David Black, graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College on May 15, 2009, with a Bachelor of Arts in TESOL.
Charity Drummond
Charity Drummond of Penns Creek, PA, completed an internship with HIM’s missionaries, Valera and Maude Motovilov. She left the US for Russia on June 23 and returned to the States on August 3, 2009. She assisted in one of the orphanages and with English Bible study. As a child, Charity spent time in Ukraine with her missionary parents. She worked with Maude to teach her children’s songs in Russian. Charity is a senior in the Child Evangelism Department at Penn View Bible Institute. She plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Evangelism and a Bachelor of Arts in Missions. Our prayers are with Charity.
