Gospel Publishing Mission, HIM’s department of literature development and distribution, plans to pass out one million Tokyo books during the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan. 500,000 books will be designed for adults and 500,000 for children.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, the government of Japan and the International Olympic Committee have agreed to postpone the 2020 Summer Olympics “approximately” one year. What a comfort it is to know our God is in control and does ALL things well!

This “reset” will help this project make an even greater impact. When people are brought face-to-face with the frailty of life, they become more receptive to the gospel message. These books will powerfully present that very message! It gives more time for funding to come in, for engaging the Japanese chuch in the project and for raising a team to hand out the books.

It also gives more time for us to bathe the entire project in prayer. Hundreds of thousands of people from around the world attend the Olympics. This is a golden opportunity to reach the lost from many nations in one setting. Pray for literature to reach those with hungry hearts. Pray for strength and wisdom for the team. Pray for all funding to come in for this project. Pray for the logistics of transporting and housing a team.
